Just had some K reg rover 400 series stick to me like glue!!! What is all that about????? I am hoping there is an f'ing quick derivative of this otherwise I am going to cry.

I know they stuck a two litre turbo charged engine in the 200 hatch and coupe variants so perhaps they also put it in the 400 saloon as well.

Basically the same floorpan as the 220 Coupe Turbo. From experience, out of the box they don't handle for toffee

Set of Koni Adjustables + Springs or Avos, uprated front tie bar bushes, stiffer ARBs and better tyres and they can keep pace with most 2WD stuff, if only through the fact that the power can drag them out of corners damn quick.

Had the same thing while in my furby, (a rover 400) 80mph foot down he will be gone in a minute, 90mph give it a bit more time, 100mph mmmm hes still there, 110mph whats going on, 120mph ok give up. :finger: but a little bit of respect.

The 220 / 420 GSi Turbo's spec was 0-62 in 6.3s, Top Spd of 150mph and 200bhp. Look for the lump in the bonnet - that's a 2 litre, although there's no way of knowing from the outside if it has a turbo.

So even a standard octy will have worries  .That cars a good little sleeper.

Still a bug ugly Grandad mobile  Does deserve some respect though. I was thinking I had major car probs after playing with that though. I know my ICE is weighing me down, but I was like WOAH!!!!!! I think I will be less cocky in future lol

if they are still in one piece by now and not rotted away! old rovers are terrible for rust. but as said can be powerfull and quite light

Like you said.. a mate used to have the coupe turbo tomcat... was a ltd edition with air con and leather. few mods by motobuild saw 250bhp and ate scoobs for breakfast in a straight line.

as already mentioned handling was shocking.. as were the brakes, which were the same as used on the 1.6  but it did have a LSD as standard :)

136lbft looks a bit small for a 2ltr Turbo with 200bhp?

and power to weight is more than a CTR which weighs 100 kg more than that but has 3 less HP yet quotes 0-60 in 6.5?

the old 400 is quite quick...

torque figs do look low for the turbo though....

400 handles much better than the coupe as is stiffer..

i know... i have one..

Full spec for the 220T Coupe was:

1994cc, DOHC with Garrett T25 Turbo, Intercooled. 8:1 Compression.

200bhp @ 6500rpm.

174.5lbft @ 2100rpm

Weight 1185kg

Max Spd 150mph

0-62 6.3s
