Has anyone recently had to renew their driving licence? How many weeks did it take?

I took mine to local DVLA office just before Christmas, they said DVLA should get it first week in Jan. I need it back for 30th Jan and getting a bit nervous :S

As far as I know the DVLA shut up shop over Christmas and New Year and only started back mid last week. I'd give another week before starting to panic. Worst case, give them a call and explain the situation. I seem to remember that there is actually a priority department which I sent mine to as I had to get mine back in a specific period and spoke to them in advance, was then given the priority department address, just had to add a covering letter (not that this really helps you now!).

Just remember to check on the card that you have the correct entitlements, they had a major problem a few years back with getting it wrong and then refusing to correct unless people produced pass certificates!!

When I changed my address the new photocard came out within a week of contacting them.
