Tech1e's 1.4 MPi

Featured Replies

I gave the car its first good clean of the year as its not been done in ages, not sure where a valet finishes and a detail starts but broke the snow foam out as she was minging. Needed to reclean the vRS seats as i've been carting the kids around all xmas and it showed..lol. Proves that with good care it doesnt take that much work to bring her up pretty good again.

Once cleaned I took a little drive out around the Malverns

87k iirc

She's far from perfect, camera hides things well. But paint work will be sorted at some point.

I've noticed rear disks....is it more than the MPI suggests?! ;)

Chassis is about as modified as it can be..lol

Still running the 1.4, for now.

Looks in great condition Ross, I like your green headlamp inserts, lots of nice subtle mods. Malverns are a nice backdrop too. Are you considering fitting a bigger lump at some point? I used to love your Seat Bocangra from SCN too!

New engine is on the cards yeah, just finding time and the finances to do it properly.

I know that quarry - it's Tank Quarry where they filmed an episode of Doctor's for daytime TV. Had a vehicle 'crash' of a road (which was supposed to be the terrace) and the occupants had to be rescued from the base of the quarry!

Nice car, by the way... Which version of the 1.4 engine have you got in there at the mo?

Which part is powered by Apple?

The engine is the 1.4 8V same as the one you have, powered by Apple? Myself and the audio I guess..lol

And yep, Tank Quarry is is :)

It was the Apple sticker in the rear window that made me ask. I've seen some clever bods have used Mac mini's as car computers - Just wondered if you had as well.

Hope it is still clean!

The fleet is tidy again, if not for very long.

Got my lower front brace yesterday, see if I can't whack that on before work tomorrow, pics to follow.

Yet to give it a real test yet, not sure if it's a placebo but steering feels more direct, which to be honest wasnt bad anyhow.

I had an OMP lower strut brace on my old Ibiza and it definitely improved the feel of the front end somewhat, looks cool too.

Be good if it snows, the subframe was digging up snow last year, so much so it went up the back of the gearbox and ended up on top of the battery lol.

Suspension mods now include

Spax RSX coil overs

VRS front arb

Jabba RARB

SEAT/Momo upper front brace

Lower front brace

Polo1600i DIY rear brace

Poweflex wishbone bushes

Powerflex ARB bushes

Powerflex rear axle bushes

Cupra console bushes

Tighter than a nuns chuff ;)

Looks great! Glad it's gone to a good home! On another note, whats the 2 bucket thing all about?

One for rinse, one for wash.

Using a wash mitt dip in the wash bucket, clean a panel then dip in the rinse and ring out. This stops mucking up the wash water and transferring dirt back onto the car which causes swirls. Grit guards in the bottom of the bucket mean when you dip the mitt you dont pick up any grit from the bottom of the bucket.

I like the Rosa! :)
