U went from a cr to pd?

Don't let my tale of woe put you off the PD170, it is a very capable and well proven engine.

The Octavia, especially the vRS? Well just read the praise it gets on here!

I am very particular when it comes to cars; they have to be 100% mechanically sound.

I am also pretty sure that the vast majority of owners wouldn’t be too fussed about the cold start issues I have experienced - it always starts, just sometimes reluctantly when temperatures are near freezing.

All turbo's whistle, mine was just a little louder than I was happy with.

I went from an "old" common rail engine in a Bora 110bhp that was tweeked to over 150bhp and a lot of torque to the PD engine, I had a VRS petrol on an 03 plate and loved it, that's what made me buy the TDI vrs, I was saving for the CR model but that was the 08 and £2,000 dearer.
