Mk 1 Fabia Boot leak

Featured Replies

The boot on my 52 reg mk 1 Fabia leaks water the rubber seal is wet from the top of the tail lights & along the bottom edge with a pool of water arond where door latch is any idea's where water is getting & how to fix it ?

Not the rear washer leaking is it?

Beaten to it! I've seen a teabag leak less than my rear washer!

Mines been doing this a bit. Easy to fix?

I fixed mine by putting a jubilee clip around the connector where it meets the motor - seems to have stemed the leak, but hasnt stopped it!

Mine started to have water pooling up on the seal after I removed and refitted it (correlated with rain rather than screenwash use). Not sure why. I got one of those bungee cords and cut the hooks off the ends, and stuffed that under the bit of the seal you can lift up and that fixed it.

It sounds like it is the rear washer. I had exactly the same problem, the washer will still work but it cant control itself and leaks in to the plastic trim on the inside of the boot.

The water then collects in the trim and leaks on to the rubber seal and latch.

I hope that you find a fix, I only discovered the problem once the boot carpet was soaked.
