Bluetooth - second phone doesn't work

Featured Replies

My husband has a new Yeti as his company car. His work mobile (Nokia) is all plumbed into the system, he can see his phonebook, make and receive calls, all without problems.

When I first drove the car this week (a moment of pure joy as I used to have a Fabia and a Felicia previously!), I managed to get the system to see and register my phone (HTC Wildfire). However, I can't make phone calls or even play the media on it. I can't see my phonebook either.

So,

If I use SETUP and upload my phonebook, will this allow me to make calls?

Will doing this overwrite his work phone contacts (and get me in trouble) or will it save both lists separately?

How do I delete my profile from the system to try everything again?

I've read the manuals and the online PDFs, but there's nothing in there about this, so I'm pleading for help!

I can't help you to get your HTC WIldfire working but from my experience with using different phones, it either downloads the phone book from scratch each time that it connects to a different phone, or it just keeps the lists separate. Either way, when his phone connects he will see his phone book.

To delete a profile you have to have a working bluetooth connection. Odd, but that's the way it works. So to delete your phone and start over you might have to connect your hubby's phone, then go though the menu to delete yours from the list.

One thing that often catches out people with Android phones is that, once the phone and the car have paired, a message will pop up briefly on the phone's screen to ask if you want to share the phone book with the car. It doesn't stay there very long, but it should leave an icon in the notification bar (the bar across the top of the home screen). If you open the notification area (drag it open from the top of the screen, or via the Menu button) then the notification should still be showing and you can act on it there. You only have to do this once, after the pairing. Of course, if the Wildfire has a non-standard Android GUI then it may not work that way at all...

Hi and welcome,

Found with my new Sony E phone I had to tell it to bluetooth the address book across separately.

TP

I have to carry two mobiles and I had to copy both address books across - each tine I get in the car it acknowledges a connection to both mobiles. Beyond that I cannot help.
