Detailing a New Black Van

Featured Replies

My cousin is getting one in March so wanted to know what sort of things I could do differently. I used Autoglym EGP and Collinite 476s in the vRS but is the anything else I could use instead that's good for black paints? I also realise that I'll have to start at the crack of dawn to finish in one day and it will have to be dry too. Took me over 8 hours to do a thorough job on my car let alone a van!

Thanks. Black hole should do nicely although I've never used a glaze before. Easy to put on?

Dead easy use a sponge aplicator to apply leave on the whole car, then remove with microfibre

Not a massive fan of glazes here but they do have their place in the market and something like Black Hole as suggested by Alan will do the job nicely assuming it's fairly swirly as this does have some filling abilities.......

The other option may be to apply some AG SRP before your application of AG EGP to again mask some swirls if it has any........

As long as you clay it to get rid of as many contaminents as possible the this should allow you a good base to apply anything too......

The van will be brand new so in theory shouldn't have that many marks on it. My Skoda was perfect on collection but depends on how well Vauxhall prep the vehicles.

Skodas are indeed well prepped so I hope Vauxhall sees him well, just a good clay and seal should see you right ;)
