KW Street Comfort coilovers

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried KW's Street Comfort coilovers?

as many of you know I'm not keen on the VMAXX ride.

I was thinking of going to H&R coilovers when I can raise the cash but maybe the KWs would be a better option. Keep the adjustable ride height but more comfort.

Are they not really expensive?

What happened to the ones you were on about getting instead of the v3s?

They're comparable in price to the H&R monotubes, slightly cheaper actually.

kw, are gonna be good Rob, better than weitecs thats for sure, and thats not a bad thing as wetiecs are good! ask bowders, he bought my v2s and rates them highly

i have ran joms on my A3 and my Bora.. never had a problem with them. The bit that slots onto the hub on the bottom of the shock i have had bend on both sets of kw coilovers i have run in the past. I use DPM performance for all my coilover needs, have never had a prob. They come with a 2 year warrenty too. I only got them 1st off as they were cheap and have never looked back since. No where near crashy even when your slammed!

there is no comparison between joms and kws, different leagues!

any car run super low, is always going to be looks focussed rather than about getting the best handling that you can out of the car. Once you run really low you stress lots of componenets like wishbones more than you do at normal height, i will agree tho, damian is a top guy for parts!

From what I'm reading they are the same shocks as V2s with the rebound adjustment but with different springs for a more OEM-like ride.

i know there in different leagues. i was always into my £500+ set ups but got fed up with the experiences i had with top money coilovers after 2 sets on 2 different cars did the same things. I had the attitude of , if the joms brake, i only lost £160.

was just major impressed with this budget shizzle thats all.

Here in NZ budget ones start at $1000 - about 500 quid. I'm looking at over $2k for KWs or H&R once I pay delivery, import duty and GST.

So I want to get it right this time :)

in that case.. i will retreat back to ones corner that one came from!:thumbup:

EDIT: your SAI removal guide... Perfect, was trying to remember how to do all that this arvo!! B)

You can't fault KW, they are a major designed suspension set for serious owners. Nothing comes close in my opinion for price and results and I have had all manner of suspension on mine

I have Luca's V2's and have just fitted the rears(fitted front just before xmas) replacing my Weitecs. set up the rebound just right and they are a sweet suspension. well recommend them

I sure do buddy.........

You are kind of correct there Rob, they are rebound adjustable. They are a more street ,highway, country road friendly due to the style of spring they use over the V2. They give a very good overall improvement whereas the original V2 will give a greater range or rebound for track, fast road and less body roll performance. The V2's suit me as I like a hard tight and low suspension. I think the street comfort would suit your car and your roads well.
