Hi all new here could anyone help me got a octavia vrs on 02 which needs a new block and turbo could anyone point me in the right direction were would be the best place and the cheapest place for a block and turbo. Had a gargae look at it they said £1200 fitted for a engien swap just think i could it a lot cheaper myself i forgot to mention the reason why. Oil pump failed. :(

did you have the pressure light come on first or anything? Or did it just go pop?

Break yours for parts mate and get another.

or keep looking on ebay and the for sale section.AUQ is the engine code your afer for a swap.

yer the light came on but i was doing 70 ish ;) in the outside lane by the time i got over to the slip road about 2 miles away it sounded like tank aa man wouldn't even open the bonnet. also a loss in power

think in gona keep the car it the 2nd one ive had only and it a few months £700 clutch and flywheel (ididn't pay for it) its all fun and games lol

2 miles with the light on!

It may be worth replacing the oil pick up pipe & strainer as I've heard of people suffering the same as you & the engine sounding like a bag of spanners, but replacing the oil pick up pipe has brought the engine back from the dead. It's a cheap job to do so probably worth a shot.

yea but 2 mile with the motor starved doing 3k rpm at time of light comming on I cant see that working or being much use if it does run, never know tho they are tough engines. Turbo will more than likely be naff like but could save the engine.

Gotta be worth a try. Sure there was someone on here recently who had similar prob & drove the car home rattling away, but new pick up got him going again.

i agree got to be worth a try but it will deffo knackerd the turbo

ill give you £50 for the knackerd engine B)
