How to remove MAF?

Featured Replies

I'm travelling to eurocarparts tomorrow and I'm looking to do an exchange on my MAF.

I've searched and found some instructions for Octavia, where is it on the fabia and how easy is it to remove?

Thanks in advance!

Its screwed into the air filter housing cover. Unclip the wiring, compress the spring clip from the concertinaed hose, pull off the small air hose to the air filter cover, undo the 2 screws holding the top of the air filter cover and remove with the MAF. Unscrew the MAF from the housing.

Pretty much the same. Same location (top right of the bay), three Philips/Torx screws holding the pipe onto the airbox, and then a horrible metal circlip holding the intake tube onto the other side of the pipe. You'll probably get the whole tube, the sensor can be taken out of the tube but you need some 5-point Torx Security bits, which are surprisingly hard to get hold of.
