BG244 DIESEL TREATMENT

Featured Replies

I have used BG244 on a car fitted with a CAT which is less restrictive than a DPF,i would be concerned about the Additive doing such a good job of cleaning the engine that i could end up with a load of crud suddenly being dumped in the DPF.

It would just regenerate sooner. In fact if it did regenerate more often after adding BG244 this would demonstrate that its working. The cleaner it gets the less frequent the regens.

No dpf on the 1.4 tdi, haven't put in the cr with dpf but it's acceptable for the cr so once out out of warranty it also will get treated, as I said previous most marques use treatments at service, Mercedes ,BMW and Volvo

why wait till it's out of warranty? If it does no harm then why not use it now,i doubt as if any dealer has the ability to tell if you have additive in your tank they miss most things.

No need to use until 10,000 k on the engine, then start using they once a year or 10k

i agree about the mileage,1st time i used it the car had done 40k and it was still under warranty,i would have probably used it before then but i didn't know about it.

I would have thought any Diesel would/should have covered considerably more than 10k before the warranty has expired.

BG244 seems to work but how important these additives are is a different thing, the reason i say this is i know many people who drive 30-40k a year and do nothing to their cars other than routine servicing and well after 100k the cars are still running fine. This could of course be because they do high mileage that they are ok?

I will still use 2stroke and once a year BG244 as it's not a big expense i will also decoke the EGR every 2years.

I used this stuff a while back in my mk1 vrs and as you I noticed an excellent difference, the car was soooo much smoother and far nicer to drive :) def made a huge difference and would really reccommend it. I posted a topic in the mk 1 section but got shot down with the usual snake oil stuff lol some of the pictures on the website for the cleaning of the petrol equivalent is remarkable really, it must do something! :)

, usually car sits around 2.400 rpm for 60 but tried it today and it's a smiggin under 2,000 rpm

The car will always sit at 2400rpm @ 60, unless you alter the gearing
