My Yeti Elegance, which was new last June, has a heated windscreen. Can anyone tell me where to find the switch? I telephoned the local dealer, who after some searching, thought that it might be the Auxillery Heating button. He also said that it should have its own switch. Of course, until the windscreen is covered with ice or snow, I cannot tell if it works. I have been through the manual, which doesn't mention heated windscreen at all, even though it has much detail about auxillery heating.

Yes, I can see a fine mesh. This was ordered as a factory fitted extra and the build log shows it as present.

No it's not. It has its own switch which highly resembles the other one meant for defrosting rear window. Except that the diagram is round rather than rectangular and that the tiny lamp is green not orange. Go ahead and have a look at the manual - chapter: lights and visibility/visibility/rear window and windscreen heater (page ~62).

Thank you, Polish Briskodian, that sounds correct. The problem is that I cannot find that switch. Do you know where it should be? Although the car was built June 2011, my manual is 05/09 and the pages are not the same as yours. My manual goes from rear window heater (p68) to sun visors then wipers and headlamps, followed by mirrors. That's it. Nothing about heated windscreen. Is it likely that I have a heated windscreen but no switch?

So finally - you do have this switch after all? It would be really weird to have heated windscreen with no switch. Maybe just two wires sticking out of the dash somewhere?

Yes I have the switch. I thought that it was for the auxillery heating. I only realised today, just how out of date my manual is. Thank you everyone for your help.

Yes.

A small heating unit under the bonnet that pre-warms the coolant before you start the engine.

It runs off the fuel in the main tank.

Great option, means the car is nice and warm before you go out in the winter. We are not allowed it on UK Yeti though. :(

Don't you mean they CAN have either auxiliary heating or a heated screen? both are a cost option that needs to be specced

There can be more country specific differencies, but in Finland we have these:

- There cannot be the factory fitted Webasto auxiliary heater AND the heated screen.

- You have to have the Climatronic, if you like to have the heated screen.

- Never heated screen for Green tec or 1.6 TDI GreenLine.
