Intermittent EGR valve issue

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'd like to pick your fabia brains!

We have our CEL intermittently appearing (though pretty much permanently on now). We've had the fault code read and it is 19586, P3130 - 35 - 10 Intermittent. EGR System Regulation Range Exceeded. I say we should have the valve replaced/fixed, OH says the garage recommended the EGR blanked and then the fault mapped out to prevent to CEL coming back on.

Our garage cleared the fault but it was back soon enough of course. We've noticed that we appear to be getting fewer mpg from a tank (about 400)

We've had the gasket altered for the hesitation done, didn't notice much difference.

We are considering having the vRS remapped, we've generally decided we need to sort this before getting it remapped

Any opinions on what to, do pros and cons of each?

The car is generally used for town driving and we plan to keep it for a few years.

PS we are not greatly hands-on but we are hoping to check the hoses around the egr for wear and possibly may even try and clean the valve (any hints?)

What age is your car? BLT or ASZ?

Get it mapped out with your remap and job done, this can be done on BLT don't listen to people who say it can't lol. :)

Thanks,

DH has booked it in for a remap, and wants to change over the intake to the PD160 seat one.

I was wondering what is a sensible torque for a standard vRS clutch? Awesome GTI are claiming approx 300lb/ft for the remap is this realistic/sensible, we don't want to be spending a fortune on repairs and replacements?

Yeah aim below 300 ideally as its the clutches 'limit' although driving style and how low and smoothly the torque comes in is a big factor in clutch death.

Lots of torque all of a sudden at low rpms munches clutches lol

Thank you! I'll send OH with a list of requirements when he takes it in for the remap, don't do this and please do that lol!

Much appreciated - this forum needs a "thanks" button.
