New temp sensor,needle still jumping

Featured Replies

Hi

I got the car serviced today, all filters, oil and changed the temp sensor as the needle was jumping all over the place

Put it all back and the needles doing the same thing, the fluctuation is being registered in vagcom so its getting to the ECU,

Any ideas on what else it might be?

Thank You

oh and there are no fault codes on vcds

also,on ignition, the needle is steady, when you start the car,it starts fluctuating and carries on doing so whilst engine is on and running, switch it off and onto ignition, needle steady again

anyone experience similar?

sticky thermostat possibly.

how does that explain when the car is off, temp needle is stable and the moment i fire it up,it starts fluctuating,

could it be a bad earth?
