Rear electric windows

Featured Replies

Has anyone done this I fancy it but can imagine the ball ache it will be does the elegance come with this as standard?

Only up to 2001 did the elegance have electric rear windows.

Would need all the wiring, motors, switches, trims, regulators, probably the drivers side window motor as well..

Early spec elegance even 2001 plate models mine has it and it's a 2001plate.....think by early 2002 they dropped the feature.

And you would need the carriers for the rear doors (metal sealing plate with all the motors/mech etc), internal trim for the rear doors, wiring looms for the rear doors, wiring looms from the dash to the rear doors, new wiring loom for the drivers door, new switch block for the drivers door (as the rear window switches also operate from the drivers door).

I've retro fitted electric/heated mirrors and front electric windows to a MKIII golf using OEM parts from a scrapped VR6.........IT all fitted ok and looked OEM in the end!!!!........but it took a bit of time to strip the doors down and faf around with electrics, etc..........but I'm pretty good with electrics/mechanics.......if you arn't I wouldn't do it as you could end up in a mess!!!!.........
