red oil light is flashing on my 05 fabia vrs just after a service

Featured Replies

ive just serviced my 05 fabia vrs testerday and the red oil light is flashing on the dash, it just happened tonite and wen i turned car off and started it did,nt happen for 2 r 3 miles, just nursed her home, cheaked oil level and its fine, not losing any and no smoke from her, if anyone cud help, thanks mick

Im fairly certain its low oil pressure

I think red is DANGER low oil pressure, orange is warning low oil level. I would not run the engine if the oil pressure is low.

Did you screw the sump plug back in before replacing the oil!?

Mines doing the same, as is my mates, what could be the cause of low oil pressure?

I've merged another 4 threads into this one, so it may read a little oddly.

Please avoid posting multiple threads on the same subject as it only serves to confuse everyone.

Was the oil filter cap refitted properly?

Sometimes if the filter is tight in the cap and you pull it out a part of the cap with the valve in it might stay with the filter. The new filter will go into the cap with the valve missing but could cause oil pressure issues.

Just a thought.

Faulty oil pressure sensor?

Either way you need to verify the oil pressure.

well cars fixed, first i changed the oil pressure switch, which then made the red oil come 10 fold, then cheacked the oil filter, the small rubber ring that goes on the bottom of the oil filter was not replaced, my fault for gettin things done by neighbours on the cheap, thanks everyone 4 ur help and am now gonna be a regular user of the site and try n help you,s boy n girls as well, thanks mick :thumbup:

Same effect as what I mentioned then, oil filter doesn't hold oil in, just drains direct down to the sump.
