LCR wishbones, hubs, and ball joints

Featured Replies

Will the full LCR front set up fit straight on to a Mk1 octy vrs? I was hoping that hubs, wishbones and ball joints from the LCR would bolt straight on and make a good difference to the handling. There are several LCR front suspension set ups on ebay at the moment, so depending onhow good they are i might try to grab one

Please let me know waht will fit and what will not as i do not want to buy parts which won't fit or which are not going to significantly improve the car's handling.

thanks

to answer the Q, yup if you get the LCR subframe complete with:

Steering Rack

Tie Rods + Ends

ARB (19mm I think same as the vRS)

Cast Wishbones

Ball Joints

Hub assys

it should all fit straight on.

You can us the std hubs with the cast wishbones+ball joints but a washer is used to teke the slight gap due to a different shnfer on the balljoints. My setup I had like that didnt have one and was fine.

this is why i changed everything and i got another car with the above setup. I just did it fully.

Does the same apply to getting a TT subframe?

yes tt subframe works the same, i bought mine (it had extra bracing anyway so is better) and then swapped the whole lot over minus hubs, using a washer as a spacer is no problem, its just to seat the taper of the balljoint in the hub properly, but if you can go the whole hog and get the hubs. If you are doing that, then you might as well get the quickrack and the 23mm arb and be done with it, then you can literally take off everything on your car currently, and replace with your newly rebuilt/refurbed setup that you can bolt straight on, it saves a lot of time as there is no need to swap bits over.
