Well, after 2.5 years & 51k miles, I finally parted company with my much beloved Octy RS :(

On the plus side... I replaced it with an almost identical 04 model with only 3k miles. It also has a few additional options that my old model didn't have (cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, climate control, and a rear wash wipe).

I was sorry to see the old war horse go... it was by far the best all round car I have owned, not to mention cheapest-to-run car I have owned. I hope the new one is as good... and I think it will be. :thumbup:

Rain sensing wipers? Why aren't they available on UK spec Octavias? We get just as much rain as in Ireland :D:D

Ireland have a good options package...no idea why we don't in the UK. Market forces I guess.

Great to hear you have gone from the old to the new same. Will begin to see a few of these changes from now on as the three/four year marker kicks in.
