VRS standard exhausts- 2 or 3 piece?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have bought a Powerflow backbox from a seller on ebay. It was listed as a custom made ss backbox, I asked the seller if it was a "bolt off bolt on job " heconfirmed this. Upon fitting this morning it seems the standard exhaust fitted to my car was in just two pieces. A front pipe including cat then from there a single pipe including backbox was all in one. Was there two different types of standard exhaust systems fitted? I did a wee bit of research on the web and found mst are in three sections. must my exhaust been welded at some point? It certainly didnt look like it. My mechanic had to cut the old pipe and fit the new ss box.

I thought they all had to be chopped? Mine was I know.

My standard exhaust was a cat/downpipe and one piece system, I cut it at the rear axle when I fitted my Scorpion system.

Thanks Kenny for confirming this, seller is adamant that it was a straight fit, maybe his standard exhaust had already been chopped and then fitted with a modified standard box.

There's a service indicator on the pipe at around the rear axle. 3 sets of 2 dots. Need to cut down the middle set of dots.

Mine is two sections, when I had my powerflow mufflerectomy they just cut near the axle.
