What has happened, here?

Featured Replies

Ok, so I thought I had the famous washer pipe problem, as I suddenly found I had no washer fluid coming through, so upon topping it up and trying it, it all came out in one go onto the floor.

After looking at the last topic on this, I planned to remove the wheel and wheelarch liner to get to it, but thought I might have a bit of a prod around first.

Anyways, I was feeling round the washer fluid pipe as it went down, under the battery area, and I found this green screw on cap which seems to be just sitting there, and an open hole.

What even is this? Is it something to do with the washer/my problem?

Thanks

Damon

Looks like the power steering fluid cap?

That is the PAS fluid cap, is it a Fabia II (your in the Fabia II section) if so where abouts was the water coming out?

ooh dear, that doesn't sound good!

Yes, it is a FabiaII

The water was coming out of this front right hand corner of the engine bay, straight onto the floor.

It will be coming out of the pump then, probably find in the recent cold weather the valve on the bottom of it has split, but the pipe may have popped off. To get to it you need to unscrew the n/s/f wheel arch liner, it's just behind that.

Thanks for that :)

Is there any parts that I will require for this mend?

Also, will I be alright just to pop that cap back on and it will be ok?

Damon

You may need a pump but won't be able to tell until you have a look.

I'd pop the cap back on and check the level.
