Octavia II 2008 - 3 beeps + ABS + ESP lights after starting the engine

Featured Replies

Hi,

Last weekend I drive into the mountains where a lot of snow is. Put on the snow chains, turned off the ESP, and drove the small curvy countryside road all the way up to the hotel and parked the car in the deep snow on the parking place.

Next day, I start the car, 3 loud beeps, and the ESP and ABS lights (orange) are on. Turned off the car, and on again, but same thing.

Also my pressing the button for ESP does not help, the light stays on.

Car drives further fine, but still curious what the issue is ?

- Could it be some snow got in some sensor since i was standing in deep snow for 24 hours ?

- Something wrong with the ecu ?

- Some other issue ?

Please let me know if you have any clue what it could be...

Thanks !

Without a fault code read its impossible to say but is quite likely a g201 sensor issue.

Loads on here about them.

Indeed, loads on info on that, also loads on high bills and different solutions.

Thanks, I'll update later after a visit to the service guys.

So, had a quick check at my service station. (I'm Dutch, but live in Prague, Czech Republic where Skoda has it's home B) )

The language is still sometimes a mystery, but the problem is the front right abs sensor.

A new one costs about 1229,- Czech crowns which is about 41 British Pound.

So, quite a relief..

On Friday it will be fixed, me a happy driver again.

that´s good my friend was same problem and there was KO ABS/ESP unit :(

How do you clean the front brake sensors? Is that procedure likely to be in a Haynes manual?

Cheers,

Andy.

IMy son has a 2001 Toledo 1.9 and had this issue

Jack it up and put axle stands under it.

Remove wheel

You will see a cable running down by the strut and into the sensor. ** Check this wire bor breaks**

Get an Allan Key ( not sure which size as been a while since I did this)

Remove the allan key and wriggle "Lighlty tap" the sensor one of its place. Wipe the connector face and also shove a cloth into its holder to wipe in there.

I gave the face of the sensor a light rub of waterpaper and wiped clean with Isopropyl.

Re-assembled and voila.

Perfect
