Octavia Estate windscreen moisture/icing

Featured Replies

Octavia Estate Elegance TDi. After wet overnight parked outside, heavy moisture on inside of windscreen - dealer says this is usual. but in low temperatures, ice has to be scraped off the inside. Is this also usual?

I've seen this happen with a variety of makes and models. It's not specifically a feature of Skodas, or a charactoristic of the Octavia. Since you have an Elegance, try leaving the Climatronic in "Auto" mode, to exploit the drying effects of the air conditioning whenever possible.

It's because you have moisture in your car, try checking for damp in the foot wells/boot etc.

sometimes the shower curtain behind the door card wears letting in water to the carpets i had the same problem on my Vrs and when really cold it freezes jusat like on the outside when we have a good frost i have to leave a window cracked open a couple of mil to let airflow inside the car that stops the windows fogging on the inside also check for any damp carpets in main cabin and boot as you could have a damaged door seal (the rubber strip around all doors) look for any moisture or water lying on the bottom of the door seals too all it needs is a pin hole and you will have a swimming pool in no time

CHECK THE RUBBER BUNGS ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE SILL I FOUND I HAD 3 MISSING ON MY CAR ALL REPLACED NO MORE MOISTURE PROBLEM

I suffered this quite badly before Xmas, although i had no issues with moisture in footwells etc. It hasn't happened since I've started making sure that i close all of the heater vents etc when parking up for the night, which seems strange :S
