Missing seatbelt anchorage cover?

Featured Replies

Whilst I'm in the complaining mood :giggle: is this normal? The drivers side has a plastic cover over it!

Sure this has been covered several times before and the consensus of opinion was it is perfectly normal.

it's actually got sharp edges on it - I could quite easily cut myself whilst searching for those missing pound coins/wedding ring/dropped sd card/etc etc

My passenger side is the same!

driver side is covered because of wire from seatbelt contac for warning light passenger is without :)

Just discovered that with mine over the weekend, normally I hoover the car clockwise, but over the weekend I did the drivers and then the passenger and noticed the difference. Reported it this morning as mine is at the dealer for some warranty work and they confirmed that they are all like it, as stated because it covers the loom for the sensor switch for the seatbelt warning light.

The service advisor said that when they first had it reported they had to check a few others to confirm it was normal. You'd think they'd design it with the cover on both sides but just not have the loom and switch on the passenger side. It is going to play havoc with my OCD. :wall:

Yep i thought it was missed off at the factory and was going to put it in for repair until my dealer told me its normal

I was worried that the wires would rub across the seats and damage them.

So I got hold of myself (from EBay) a small off-cut of leather. Cut to the right size I made a small sleeve for this. Using some fabric glue and then turning the seem so it cannot be seen.

It looks good and there is no worries about the wires damaging the seats.
