DMF Rattle When No DMF Fitted?

Featured Replies

Hi all, As per the title my car was fitted with a VR6/G60 clutch and flywheel back in Oct last year but recently i've noticed a strange noise similar to noise you get from a knackered DMF. I originally thought it sounded like a pulley noise but I have noticed that if I push the clutch pedal all the way in it disappears! Any one have any idea's?

release bearing?

was that replaced when the clutch was done?

Release bearing or quite possibly first motion shaft bearings.

Release bearing was done at the same time, What are the first motion shaft bearings?

Gearbox shaft bearings

Well just looked it up and I hope it isn't that as it looks like a gear box strip to sort that out lol.

Hi,I have the same problem with my octavia.I thought my dmf was on its way out so replaced a new one and i still have the same noise coming out of my gearbox. It looks like a gearbox needs reconditioning.

could be your clutch diaphragm (yes i googled the spelling!)or a spring broken. they sounds like a fecked DMF. see it at work every day :)
