Does anyone know when it should be done i cant find anywhere in the book about mileage to change it.

There isn't an interval to change fuel filters on any of our petrol vehicles.

Really good mpg and hesitant running when warm are all some of the signs that you might need to change the fuel filter.

I believe that the fuel filter is normally changed at around the 6 year mark at the same time as the air filter (!). I had both of mine changed as a matter of course before this at the local independent as they are both very cheap parts. Probably more important if you bought the car used rather than new.

Diesel fuel filter is changed at the 60k service, but as said there is no interval for the petrol.

However personally I'd change it at 40 or 60k

£15 from eurocarparts be rude not too i'm quite anal for maintenance and servicing.
