Engine warning light

Hi...this has been probably answered somewhere on here but new to site so not sure where to look.....My problem is i just bought a 03 Octavia and i replaced the battery yesterday...since doing this the Amber engine light has come on and also another amber light ...it has a exclamation mark with a arrow going anti clockwaise on it....think it might have something to do with the traction....but not 100%...any ideas why these would have came on and how do i get them off....it is having its NCT/MOT tomorrow so will prob fail on it.....Cheers
