DRL install

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have installed a set of DRLs (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_541305_langId_-1_categoryId_165688). Yeah, I know Halfrauds and all that, but these were the only ones I could find that fitted without messing around too much. (They're installed on the removable sections by the front fogs. To say they fit, well, *if* I was feeling brave, if would have been an interference fit! Two screws and one hole drilled, and that was to access the adjuster screw.

Anyway, I've got an ignition-swtiched source to turn them on. What I'm after now is the positive feed to the side-lights, preferably from the connector behind the light-cluster. (This will swtich the DRLs off via a relay, thus staying nice and legal.)

Can anyone let me know which pin is the + feed please?

Cheers

Alex

Which pin on the back of the lght cluster did you use?

I connected on the wire inside of the light.I pulled the wire through the vent holes - two rubber hoses.

pick up yellow cable behind the light cluster.

On left side + pin is 10 and on right side is 2.I suggest that you take off the cover on light and check which wire goes to bulb and then check on the connector.

Thanks guys. When it's made it's mind up about snowing I'll get out and finish that off. Will let y'all know.

Brfanc: am trying to keep it on the car side, just in case the cluster has to come out and no-one's noticed the extra cables ;) ;)

Pin 2, right-hand cluster. Spot on! Thanks! :)

Wired into the back of the main cluster connector, so headlight is still easily removed if needed.

DRLS now come on with ignition and off when sidelights come on. :)

Does this work ok on cars with Cambus wiring ?

Please don't fit aftermarket DRL's to your Octavia, it's really not a good look :'(
