DSG7 - news from Israel

Featured Replies

Two news items from Israel:

1) The Skoda importer in Israel admitted there are problems with the DSG7 clutches, promised to fix any such problems, and extended the warranty on these gearboxes and clutches to five years (or 150,000km). Lame excuse of the year: the hot Israeli weather is causing the problem :p

2) Superb 1.8 TSI(and Octavia) will be available with "regular" 6-speed automatic, instead of the DSG7. Engine looks downrated to 151HP, top speed and accelleration suffer. Sited reason: there is a worldwide shortage of the DSG7, and to shorten supply lead times, Skoda will supply the old gearbox.

Does anyone but me see a connection between the two items??

Aharon65,

It's a bit late but I share your information in our Facebook page.

You may already be informed but recently VW CHINA, pressurised by media and administration, decided to extend the waranty on DSG7 to 10 years.
