Panoramic Roof Sunblind

Featured Replies

I like driving with the blind open as I like a light and airy cabin.

However, the blind occassionaly closes itself on locking the car.

I have looked through the maxidot, looked through the manual and the only real mention about auto closing is when you

hold the lock on the key. As I have kessy, all I press is the sensor on the door.

Anyone any ideas as to how I stop the auto closing of the blind ?

Thanks

Are you sure it closes WHEN you lock the car? I don't think it does...

I have the very same sunroof in my Yeti and a lot of sunroof owners in the Yeti section have wondered about the auto closing blind BUT all of us only find it closed the next day........ This only happens when you have the "automatic rain closing" box ticked (or whatever it is called, I can't remember now). Untick that and the blind won't close every night - nor of course will the sunroof and windows now close if the rain sensor detects rain. No-one has thus far been able to explain why the Germans added this weird bit of logic to the sunroof's software algorithms. It does not close the blind the moment you lock the car (unless you are holding the lock button for more than two seconds which will slide the blind across until you release the button) and only closes it at some point during the night. Weird.

Is it possible that the shutting is connected (somehow) via the light sensor? WOuld be the only logical other explanation as to when it closes, when it senses a particular drop in ambient light?

It could be, but I have also come back to my car in the daytime (after having locked it only an hour or so before, also in the daytime) and found the blind closed..................... ONLY fix is to deselect the "Auto rain close" box.

Yes the rain sensor closing was enabled, now disabled.

Many thanks for the advice.
