Every time I start the car ..

Featured Replies

Right everytime I start the car it seems there is no boost running like a N/A car , until I turn the car off and start it again then I have boost and you can here the dump valve

Is it going into limp mode or what ?

I've got no cel light and no fault codes atal ...

Confused . Com

Yeah it's going into limp. Recycling the ignition should bring it of Limp. If you are using a code reader it probably can't recognize the fault code.

You need to get Vagcom/VCDS diagnostics as there will be a fault code logged. Wouldn't surprise me if you have the dreaded 17705 code, i.e, pressure drop between throttle & turbo.

Mine was cutting between boost and limp home when I had a duff coilpack. Worth getting em done in not already via the recall.

I've changed One coil pack for a genuine one already but not sure if the others are non branded therefore skoda won't touch em , erm I've only got the free version of vag com /vcds

It's rather odd tbh , what causes the code 17705?

VAGCOM/VCDS shareware should still show you the code. If the ECU is putting the car in to limp you should be getting a fault code.

17705 is caused by a boost or vacuum leak.

But once I cycle the ignition it's fine , and definatly no boost leak ! Got a feeling it's MAF as it runs better at idle once I've disconnected it

If it runs better without the MAF plugged in the MAF is shot. Get a genuine VAG MAF, & not aftermarket as they don't usually work properly.

Thanks Paul been a lot of help I've got my mate coming round tommorrow with full vag com so will have a good look into it aslong as he can get here in his Audi s4 with all this snow

Do an autoscan with vagcom, & that should show any stored fault codes.
