RNS 510 MFD3 odd behaviour

Featured Replies

The last couple of weeks or so it's been acting up a bit. I usually have it that it comes on with the key and off when i take the key out, never use the on/off button.

First thing i have noticed when i put the key in it wouldn't come on as usual. Had to turn it on manually. This is intermittent. Then it started doing the opposite. Withdraw the key and it stays on until i turn it off manually, intermittent also. Last night i start the car up it comes on ok, OEm bluetooth connects and i drive off.

1/4mile down the road the screen says bluetooth disconnecting ( something like that) and the button lights go off and the screen becomes very bright, turn engine off and pull out the key and it stays on.. It did the exact same thing again tonight , it came on alright and then the bluetooth disconnect message appeared with the button lights going off and bright screen. Funny thing was it happened on the exact same spot on the road.

When this happens if i do a reboot it starts working ok again and no problems for the rest of the journey. any ideas? I tried updating the software and the problem still exists.

Mine does some strange things too, seems to be a trait of these units.
