Post your Yeti in Snow photos here...

Featured Replies

There seem to be a few different sets of snow related photos popping up in various threads. I thought Id post mine here as Id love to see other Yeti's in these conditions.

Oh and to anyone that ever says I wasted my money on a lightweight 4x4 and winter tyres - I'll probably just laugh uncontrollably! :giggle: It may only be for a few days of the year but they are probably equal to every other day of driving combined throughout the year in terms of the fun and sense of achievement you get with a snow capable vehicle!

Mine from yesterday...

I had some fun this weekend too! Went out about midnight on Saturday to a deserted car park and well, left some rather donut shaped tracks in the snow. I was honestly just driving slowly around in circles officer. :giggle:

On Sunday I went out to Essex to find some better snow roads to play on. Could not spend much time doing it as the builders are starting today and we had TONS to do to the house to get it ready for them (ie get things done for what they had not quoted!).

Some roads were far less travelled than this one with very deep snow.

Was my first time out in real snow with the new wheels and tyres and they performed as well as the last ones. Was really impressed.

Posted already, but here you go ...

Nice pics there.

Questions though.

(thought of with my advanced driving head on)

Why has only one out of four of you cleared all the snow off before driving?

What happens when the heating in the car warms the roof up and you have to stop quickly?

I don't want 3 points on my license so yes I spent a few minutes before setting off to clear the entire roof from snow before setting off on Sunday. My hands enjoyed the heated seat after that let me tell you! :giggle: BUT on the Saturday night I went just five minutes from home and spent all of five minutes in the car park so did not clear it then - naughty I know. Hence being a good boy on Sunday morning.

Guilty. I'm an advanced driver as well, as you know, so cleared the car before leaving.

There wasnt a chance in hell there was going to be anything behind me at 5.50am Sunday morning - I literally live off the lanes I was heading for, knowing that I guess I didnt bother with all the snow on the roof. Having said that it would be a good idea to do it in future just in case. It cleared quickly as I was playing with gradients within two minuted of driving off from home also :giggle:

great pics ,go on please!:thumbup::rofl:

snow?

Minus seven again but shaping up to be a beautiful day. This was shot from the yeti yesterday at Edinburgh airport

It's almost all gone now I found the camera. Probably some more though at the end of the week.

Absolutely awesome - give me some of that!

Now this is some real winter you have there, briskycat! Fantastic!

Well, to be clear: this photograph is not mine. I received it from a friend and he didn't tell me where it was taken, but looks like somewhere in Russia. In Moscow we had a snowfall like that a couple of years ago, but not this winter.

Down in the Ardennes yesterday, Everywhere been cleared.

There are a few places even a Yeti can't go.

Up here in the fozen north we don't actually have any snow & I think that my drive has had a slight covering once this winter. We do have the white fluffy stuff on the hills though & I've therefore cheated & my pic is of the hills with snow. :giggle:

So where's the Yeti? Under it? :giggle:

I would attach a picture, but how do you do it from the 'my pictures' folder on my computer - the options seem to assume the images are always at a web address ?? Copy/paste does not seem to work.

Sorry to be a bit niave technically here - any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Pete

Pete you need to upload the photo to something like www.flickr.com or http://imageshack.us/ or even to your very own Facebook albums. In Facebook you right click on the picture to get the photo's URL or you click on the provided URL links in the other sites and then use the photo button in the post editor here (the one with the tree as a photo) and paste that URL link there.

Thanks Johann

Here you go - courtesy of Flickr (I do not do facebook). Here's my SM in the fens last weekend- felt very secure on the Hankook winter tyres, but of course, there are no hills around here to really test them out !
