Superb TD S estate

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Feels strange being in the Superb section :giggle:

Just a quicky, my parents might be buying a Superb estate and they NEED to have climate control.... Does the Superb come with this as standard on the S model? I will be curious as to why IF it doesn't.

Thanks

'S' has air conditioning

'SE' and Elegance have full climate control. This is available as an option on the 'S'

They have to build some differences in between the trim levels

IMHO, climate control is overrated. I always found the semi-automatic air con on my Superb S to be easy to use and all that was really required. TBH, I could quite easily live without the climate control fitted to my current Superb SE.

If your parents must have climate, then it is available as an option on 'S' models. From memory, I think the cost is a not insignificant £500.

^^ Agreed - I managed for over 4 years on the Octavia with just air conditioning. The climate on my SE is more than adequate, doesn't heat up any quicker, haven't tested the coolness yet!

Veloplus is right, the on cost on an 'S' spec is £505.

My mother is disabled and often 'suffers' temperature fluctuations from one extreme to another hence the need for climate control.

£505 for cc seems alot of money really, but, needs be.

Thanks for the replies

Having driven many cars with and without climate control I find the system in my Superb SE is one of the best I have ever had for keeping a constant temperature. It really is a 'set and forget' system. The semi-auto system I had in my previous Golf was, IMO, nowhere near as effective at keeping a constant temperature, requiring frequent intervention form myself.
