What brake pads ?

Featured Replies

I'm quite happy with the standard pads on my car, but when I replace them, what should I go for in terms of a little more 'bite' ?

I'm not going down the big brake route unless I go track racing, which I'm not emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Ive used Mintex M1144 and they were good. DS2500 were also good but left loads of stickly residue on the alloys when on track. Have used Tarox Strada pads and they were worse than stock on track.

I was wondering too about brake pads. I have a -08 fabia 1.4TDI and the brakes, well let's be honest, are not the best in the world. Especially if I plan on a remap. I haven't been able to find a good set of brake pads yet. I have experiences over Ferodo ds2500 (on different cars) and ds performance (ds2000 or something) and been happy with them. On a general note, seems that there aren't really that many parts for a fabia II pre-facelift (I mean any kind of tuning or performance parts).

And these are pads ...... ?

They are manufacturers of many many pads, so essentially that is a useless post.

Anyone tried redstuff pads? Mates got them on his Celica and they seemed alright!?

I personally like the ferrodo ds2500. Obiviously there is better out there but i don't feel the extra cost is worth it for me as i never do track days

Are these OK when they're cold as well ?

Redstuff are direct OEM standard pad replacement, you might as well stick with stock tbh

They are good for road and light track, but when very hot they spit sticky globs all over your alloys that are a nightmare to come off

Yes, you can see it on many Skoda's as OEM
