Can you force Blackberry to use HFP instead of rSAP?

Featured Replies

As many others have found, Blackberry connection via rSAP is hit and miss. I have tried rebooting my phone and that worked once and connected for a few days but after the next reboot failed to connect again.

So, is it possible to force the phone to connect via HFP instead? I never had problems using my Blackberry via Bluetooth in my old SEAT Exeo.

What BB are you using?

Yes, it should possible - it was on my Torch! - you can select what Protocols you want to use in the Bluetooth menu.

Bold 9700 - I've found the setting in Options and unticked it. Phone now connects (and much quicker than with rSAP). Let's hope it continues to connect - I'll report back in a few days.

Thanks.

I've used a Bold 9700 with HFP for the past 12 months - has worked almost perfectly the whole time. My problem has been the other way around - I cannot get it to connect using rSAP at all, but from what you've described I won't bother trying again...
