Hi All

Im new the the world of the skoda octavia, i did have a Shogun but i swapted for a 02 VRS.

The boy i got it from told me it has been mapped or chiped and also tuned.

It has been dropped on it ass and a induction kit fitted and some generic dump valve.

It also has a boost gauge and a oil pressure gauge but thay dont work (the lights come on but the needals dont moove)

I got a RR print out with the car (182BHP@220KPH) but dont no if that was befor the work or affter, I will be getting another dunn asap.

looks tidy.. Loose the filter tho, all it will do is suck on hot air from the bay and slow you down! if all your seeing is 182 after a map then your going to need all the power you can get.

vRS is 180bhp as standard.

What he said  Plus if the 182 is after the map/chip it must be a rubbish

Need some new exhaust hangers on it too.

Welcome to Briskoda!

That 182bhp will probably be before a remap (if it has been remapped - did it come with any receipts from the remappers as you should tell the insurance if it is remapped).

Silver is the best colour! Engine bay looks clean as well.

And yeah it looks like one of the exhaust rubbers needs replacing the way the tailpipes hanging. And it could do with a pipe to extend the cone filter down to the bumper, where it is at the moment its just sucking hot air in.

Suspect also that cone filter is in fact stainless steel mesh, so will have F'all filtration properties. Fit the airbox back on or get a better filter.

Who insured you with the mods, remap, suspension, etc?

And last question, how much was it?

In 2nd and 3rd the turbo should spool up at 1800revs, wastegate is fully open at just over 3000 revs so after that the boost will just slowly tail off. If it feels like it's pulling hard even in 4th and 5th then its not standard. Standard they are quick cars but feel smooth and not like they're going that quick if you know what I mean lol

Just noticed the hose from the secondary air pump doesn't have a mini filter on the end either, might be worth getting a little one of those when you relocate the cone filter... looks like this:

And what make is that divertor valve? Looks like it's fitted in a wierd position?

ahhh i remember you from ukmkiv forum! Welcome! i aint been here long but its 100000 times more grown up than ukmkivs.

@chicken... nice use of my induction pic there! lol

Ooops sorry I've got a habit of stealing these pics lately... usually it's Rob that's the victim lol

I promise I've got some of my own but they're all of boring things like the intercooler and cleaning the throttle body lol

It feels like it is pulling hard in all gears (i can hit 70 just on the on ramp to the M8, it about 1/8 of a mile) going to get i RR asap.

im getting a breather filter for the hose slightly diff from the one in your pic.

If you meen the dump/blow off valve, dont no think its a generic (randome) one, where are thay usally fitted???

I maybe wouldn't post on a public forum that you've been driving like a tit

The DV is usually fitted under the bulge shaped bit in the top right of the engine cover, whether its a standard one or aftermarket. That one looks like an atmospheric DV to me which are a no-no on these cars, they have to recirculate some of the boost. Check and see whether its got a pipe coming out the side of it going back into the intake piping under that bulge to recirculate the air.

Whoever owned this before you hadn't got much of a clue about tuning by the looks of it! They've kept it quite clean and tidy at least.

And yeah I would take down the photos with your reg if you're admitting doing those speeds on a public forum you never know who might see it
