Looking to buy Fabia Vrs

Featured Replies

Hi guys, im looking at buying a Fabia VRS tomorrow, 120k miles, 2004 53 plate, full service history. was just wondering if there is anything specific to check on these when buying.

Thanks in advance.

How much pal?

The only thing I'd be worried about is the turbo, if its had an easy life and looking after then it should be okay for a wee while.

3k its up for, only had 2 owners from new, im guessing they would probably be motorway miles. it has a full service history so i can have a look through and see whats been replaced :)

thanks for the reply.

Edit: is there away to connect an iPod up to the standard head unit, i.e. an aux port on the back?

Cambelt and water pump? Check if and when they have been replaced.

Wet footwells in the rear? Easy sealer fix on the door carrier will fix it but could be a bargaining factor? There's threads on here showing how to fix and also videos on YouTube.

Turbo as a previous poster has said.

Condition of the interior? Obviously it's light and pale, again a possible bargaining factor.

Knocks or Clunks from any suspension/ bushes when driving, particularly over bumps.

I'm sure someone else will post many more things to look out for :)

im looking for a vrs aswel. the only thing im reaaly worried out is the turbo and clutch/dmf. i replaced both on my denzel mk4 golf and even though the turbo was replaced by ourselfs it was still huge amount of money not to mention the 600 quid for clutch and flywheel.

is there any particular way of checking out the turbo that could help me, i know if i put it in a higher gear at low speed and accelerate i can feel if it pulls?

blue smoke on start up from cold, tends to mean the seals are going.

ok thanks guys :)

If the worse happens with the turbo I whacked a used one on when my original went, £200 fitted hardly mega money. If your buying a old car you'll need to factor in a bit of cash for repairs

Did u get ur car mate

Suppose you do but 300 miles is mega lol! Almost a tank of fuel too if your driving briksly! I picked my car up and drove 150miles to bring it home so didn't have much desire to go play any more lol.

yeah they hadn't left much fuel in it where i bought it from, so i put 50 in and i think ive done quite well almost 50 mpg's, amazing how you can be doing 85-90 mph and not even realise it.

300 miles because i came from somerset to Coventry to see it and seeing as i was in the midlands i went to Telford to see my parents and a few friends, before heading home.

Does anyone know the name or product code of the little things that twist and lock to keep the floor mats in place, 3 out of 4 of mine are missing.
