Felicia sump removal

Featured Replies

Hi All. I'm Having a bit of trouble with my R reg skoda felicia 1.9d. sumbody b4 i had it has overtightend the sump plug thus stripping the threds. I've tried all sorts but to no avail so now its sump off time. So ive undone all the sump bolts and the 2 nuts holding the flywheel guard in place but can't seem to get the sump or guard off at all. Any ideas would be much appreciated as would an answer as to weatheer im missing some thing obvious. Oh just to add ive even tried slackening off the gearbox bell housing bolts to see if that helps but once again no joy :(

If you're sure you've taken all the nuts and bolts out, try tapping the sump with a wooden mallet or an ordinary hammer with a bit of wood to insulate it. Often parts with gaskets get 'baked on' over time and it's simply a matter of breaking the bond. I'd be reluctant to lever it with a screwdriver in case you score the joint face.
