broken headlight

Featured Replies

Hi, i hit a pheasant on the way home from work :swear:

It must've hit the headlight and nothing else. The two top mounts have broken (even bigger :swear: )

Does anyone know if i can get new mounts or the plastic headlight holder (not sure of the proper name!) or is it a whole new headlight Jobby?!

Thanks,

Dave

new headlight mate.

Are the VRS headlights the same as the other Fabia headlights or do i need a VRS specific one?

Its a 2007 tdi VRS SE btw.

Any non Xenon one will be fine (assuming its not Xenon one that's bust)

Might be worth removing the old light and the bits of the mount still attached to the screws to see if there's the slightest chance of a repair?

I believe so...

Keep an eye out on here for some for sale as 15 or so members have switched to xenons

Yea - its a standard non xenon. Both mounts snapped and bits missing so repair is gonna involve 'making' a new mount. If thats the case and i can get a cheap replacement unit i'd be as well doing that!

Cheers folks, will keep a lookout.

The dealers might do a repair kit to screw on new top mounts. They are available for other cars in the VAG range, might be worth giving them a call.

ebay is probably the easiest way for a new lamp mate.

If its the passenger side light you want i have a fully working second hand one i took out of my Vrs last week... Lense is a bit cloudy but i changed it because it was a completely different colour in comparison to the new one on the drivers side which was replaced after an accident

Just put 2 flat brackets on it and it's holding fine (probably stronger now!) cost me a grand total of feck all as I had the brackets lying around!
