How do you tell if the engine is the 90 or 110bhp variant?

What spec is it ie elegance ambiance and does it have TDi written on the back in black or does it have a red i?

Back TDi = 90bhp

Black TD & red i = 110bhp

Black T & red Di = 130bhp

If you've still got the service manual theres an options sticker in the front with loads of three letter codes, one of those (I think its the one on the top left) will start with an A and is your engine code:

90bhp TDI is either AGR or ALH

110bhp TDI is AHF or ASV

The sticker might also be on the boot floor and the engine code should also be stamped on the block somewhere.

130 is ASZ. Typically the 130 engine is in '03 onwards Laurin & Klement, and in very late Elegance models.
