revo stage 1

Featured Replies

areet guys , been to get the car rolling roaded this morning , she made 183.8bhp, was happy with that.

so i got the lad to do the revo stage 1 he quoted me 210bhp 240lbs and the car should be totaly different to drive.

so the car made 207.5bhpand 230lbs , am a little bit ****ed off tbh as i was expectin more for the numbers , and to make it worse the car drives the same and you cant feel the power difference

Did they check the car over or just put the map on? With the remap on its putting more stress on parts so a hose or something could have failed. Ideally they need to monitor all sorts of things like MAF reading, N75 position, lambda, actual and requested boost when they do the before and after dyno runs then they'll have a good idea if somethings not working as it should.

Don't forget if you're still running a standard SMIC you'll lose a load of power if the engines hot.

yeah the lad said the intercooler was preety much at its limit as the car had about 6/7runs. i think he just put the map on becasue when i rang him and told him i wasnt happy he said use the car over the weekend and bring it back on monday and we will cheak the codes etc

A stage one map should transform the car. It's like night and day so as chicken eyebrow says you must have some other issues.

After just a couple of runs at full chat with the standard intercooler it'll be down on power let alone 6 or 7

Stage 1 totally transformed my vrs, i could tell am instant differance

i should still feel the difference once on the road tho surly , car felt the exact same as before the remap

Well you've went up 25bhp verified by the rolling road....

How much were you expecting?

I think thats pretty respectable?

most be something wrong, even with standard intercooler should feel much stronger, you should have a load more torque if not bhp

thats what i was thinkin bud , if it didnt cost 360quid it wouldnt be so bad , also would a decat and downpipe make that much difference

what does a stage 1 map make on a completely stock octavia vrs?

210bhp 250lbs iirc , not 100% on that

205-210hp

I dont see the problem??

If it was me id complain and ask for my money back and the map removing too! After having a remap you will expect to feel some extra power and that it would drive loads better otherwise whats the point of paying good money out for nothing?

Its rr'd at an extra 25bhp? Am i missing something?

Its just not about the peak power on a set of rollers, its also how the car drives on the road. It could give a peak power 300 at 9000rpm but only give 150 at 3000rpm where the car may spend most of the time. Its the same with the torque the power and torque bands must be in a usable place where you can use it.

Revo maps used to be wrote by richard washbrook... They may still use his maps and you'll struggle to find a better mapper

Theres something seriously wrong if you dont notice any difference, it should feel like the gears have moved down i..e third now feels how second used too its that much of a difference

thats what i expected trevor , i was expectin a lot tbh but i couldnt feel any difference ,am goin to give it till over the weekend then if am still not happy with it al get my money back and spend it elsewhere.

cheers lads

I really think your figures are bang on for just a map.. Mine has a jabba sport map, down pipe,de cat and exhaust plus a panel filter and 220 bhp on 1 r/r and 226bhp in another. I would be happy with that to be fair..

you should defo feel it out on the road, the difference should be night and day

Just toto re-iterate what others are saying, it should feel much faster so something isn't right.

Im glad you have said this. i had a revo map end of December and again i can't feel much of a difference. Im really disappointed. Revolving told me it was down to using tesco 99. sounds like rubbish to me

yeah something isnt right , it might just be me , i heard the revo are meant to be agressive , mine feels smooth , as in standard smooth , doesnt feel any faster than it did before , i have just been out to test it on a private bit of road and could only manage the same speed .

the car doesnt feel like its got any boost leaks or anything mayjorly noticable etc etc
