revo stage 1

Featured Replies

Im glad you have said this. i had a revo map end of December and again i can't feel much of a difference. Im really disappointed. Revolving told me it was down to using tesco 99. sounds like rubbish to me

Tesco 99 apart from bp102 is the best fuel you can put in... Better than vpower!

the car was remapped on vpower and has always had used vpower

I could run mine on standard unleaded and it would **** all over a standard VRS

I've had Revo stage 1 on a few VAG 1.8T's, & it totally transforms the car.

You must have a problem somewhere for you not to be able to tell the difference.

How does as mapped vrs compare with say its older ko4 brothers? Lcr and tt225 (stock obviously)

areet guys , been to get the car rolling roaded this morning , she made 183.8bhp, was happy with that.

so i got the lad to do the revo stage 1 he quoted me 210bhp 240lbs and the car should be totaly different to drive.

so the car made 207.5bhpand 230lbs , am a little bit ****ed off tbh as i was expectin more for the numbers , and to make it worse the car drives the same and you cant feel the power difference

What the guy quoted to you 210bhp and 240Ibs for a REVO stage 1 is top figures, most get 207bhp and around 230Ibs so your figures are bang on target.

With those figures you should really feel a performance gain especially as the torque really is a big improvement over std. If you can't feel the power delivery you should take it back.

The REVO map can be customised on fuel / air mixture , timing and boost control to give either aggressive or a smooth longer boost curve. This depends on how you car is running to start with and if the mapper did his job right would of set yours to the best optimal settings.

I had a sport cat and panel air filter and when I had stage 1 REVO done my map was set to almost max as it was running great fuel/air/timing and 18 psi boost.

car was awesome.

Now I have stage 2 REVO which again i had almost max setting which gives me 226bhp and 262Ibs torque that is another level over stage 1.

Still if you can't feel no difference on stage 1 your car is not set up correctly simple as that.

210bhp 250lbs iirc , not 100% on that

Will not see 250Ibs on a stage 1. Lucky to get over 230Ibs

Car does run better on tesco 99 , mine does and recommend you use that in car when you get the map done, as believe it or not the mapper will be able to up the timing and boost settings more on better fuel.

Typically REVO are a aggressive map. So if folks can't see a difference something is wrong.

I've owned a 225 Audi S3, & driven several LCR's & I'd say K03S equipped Revo stage 1 delivers the power in a much more aggressive & fun way to K04 equipped cars.

That sounds good then :)

my cars got remap, downpipe, sportcat ect and my mate has a remaped tt 225 and the only way he could gain on me was when i slowed down for corners,up and running ther was nothing between us,(tt has JUST a remap nothing else):)

its goin back on monday for some dataloggin to see whats up with it , the mapper said i should feel the difference in the car straight away .

i hope to get this matter solved as i was lookin forward to enjoyin the car

just to add my last vrs revo mapped made 211 bhp and 236 ftlb torque.

sorry , didnt get time to get on the comp yesterday , went to the mappered and looked thro the graphs and plots of the info etc , only 1 plot didnt match the claimed revo figure ,so am goin back this weekend to get some data loggin done on a private road to see whats what.

would a decat and 3inch down pipe make any difference etc , would it help spool the car that it needs another map to suit the decat and downpipe

cheers lads

I don't know owt about maps etc. But I thought the point of it going on a rolling road is to get the map tweaked to the car? Or is all maps the same and the rolling road is just to look for problems?

Rr is just to satisfy customer of bhp

'custom' maps are set up on the rolling road

I'm mystified by this post??

The car should drive pretty much the same off boost as standard, but on boost it should torque steer & go like stink!

The car made 183bhp before the remap, & then 207bhp with Revo which is absolutely spot on. Yet the owner says he can't tell the difference :wonder:

Stands to reason if he has a 4x4 system sapping power.

Im blaming the owner. :D

Noticed a big difference on mine when I got revo'd and then stage 2 was less aggressive but more progressive but getting it checked over is a good shout as there may be something wrong with the car which is causing a problem

The thing is the car is actually proven to be making that power. I had mine done at r-tech and it made 205 bhp / 235 lb ft.

At the initial figures I was almost disappointed as it ran 185bhp standard.

Then I drove it! F**k figures it's all about how a car pulls and puts the power down which often isn't described in power numbers, this pulls like stink from 2500rpm right to the red line and makes you appreciate how mild the standard 180 bhp is.

It really surprises me that you didn't notice the difference in the REVO map, although I've not tried one myself, they are notorious for being really aggressive. Hence the reason I went for the R-tech map.

Let us know how you get on as this is very interesting.

been up today and done some data loggin , the car is suposed to make 190%load but only makes 170 then tails off to 130ish , so we done some more dataloggin and sent 4 files to revo to hear what they say on the matter.

checked the spring in the dumpvalve and it has the yellow 1 in, mapper said that its fine and loads of the 225 tt/cuprs R cope with them in so thats fine .

could my actuator be weak or faulty

been back to the mapper today , for some further testing , boost peaks at 18psi at 4500 then drops off very quickley and the cars not making the load that it should , any ideas at all peoples

cheers

What did the mapper say. I take it that the car was tested prior to mapping and found to be healthy? The REVO map is customisable in that the mapper can dial in various stages of timing, boost and fuel trim so the RR would help set this up. This is what I had done on both Stage 1 and stage 2 REVO maps. I am a little lost that your mapper can't detail what is going on and why you are left to try to work out what is happening. Sounds like the mapping is not right if you are not holding onto full boost till almost red line. The mapper should be able to identify a weak actuator, DV or N75 valve or even a boost leak under pressure. You need to be getting the mapper to help you not the other way around or tell them to take map off and get a refund as this is poor service in my book....

yeah m8 , thats what am thinkin aswell , hes rang revo and sent the cars data logs onto revo , and they have come to the concusion that the intake temps are to hot , he mentions cleaning the cooler as it maybe be dirty , had all the boost pipes off and cleaned and back on, tbh the cooler doesnt look that old either , the car has a 007 with a yellow spring in drilled air box and green cotton air filter , other than that its standard , it made 183.9bhp before and 207bhp after which am happy about just am not happy that i cant feel any difference at all on the road.

av been doin a bit research and takin the info back to him to help in any way i can.

can i ring revo up dierect and speak to them at all

cheers

Personally I would stop the searching and stop offering help and support. Get the mapper to do this. or start charging the mapper for your service....you are missing the point. It is there Job. And no don't phone REVO get them to. Your car should be ok with green spring TBH. Or try std DV. I know you want it sorted and feel for you buddy. It is simple a REVO 1 tune will be bloody noticable end of. If not, it's not right get your Mapper to sort it or tell you what is wrong.
