Front ARB Bushes

Featured Replies

I decided its about time I gave my vRS some TLC. Been neglecting it for a while.

I want to replace the front anti roll bar bushes. Can anyone tell me how easy a job this is and what parts i'll need?

I'm assuming I need to first get two ARB bushes, but do i need new bolts? that special VW grease? or is copper grease ok.

If you get the 19mm Power Flex ones they come with some grease. As for the fitting I'm unsure as I'm going to be doing it soon myself.

 Its a doddle, well on mine it was, check what size of anti roll bar is fitted as per thickness and I bought a pair of 19mm powerflex bushes, jack the car up and put it axle stands, and there are 2 fixings per bracket, from what I remember one screw is hard to get at because the drive shaft is in the way,so I put the trolly jack under the outer wishbone balljoint and raised it just enough to gain access to the bolt and changed it no probs. cheers - Stuart B)

cheers

But don't the powerflex ones cause increase vibration?

My mothers had them on her std TDi for about a year now with no complaints. :)

I can't see vibration in the front anti roll bar being in an issue.

SuperPro 19 mm antiroll bar bushes are cheaper slightly from Awesome GTI, they are also doing free delivery at the moment too.

:giggle: Its the harder consol bushes that give extra noise from the suspension arms not the ARB mounts. cheers - Stuart
