Oil Leak from Egr Valve

Featured Replies

I just picked up my first vrs last week (2006 fabia vrs) and whilst having a good look round it and giving it a good detailing i noticed a couple of faults. One being a small amount of oil that seems to be coming from the small hole on the front face of the egr valve. I spoke to a friend and he reconed that it was a common thing. I was just wondering what i should do about it and if i should worry?

if it's the vac controled one, see if you can get it fixed under warranty it won't go bang but it won't get any better --the seal inside can't be replaced the options other wise are relace---egr delete or stealth mod but that will give you a warning light which needs programming out---do NOT block the hole to stop the leak --causes other prob's

Ye it is the unit with the vacum hose going in to the top. Thats great. The car was bought from a privite seller so wont get anything out of him. I think il see how it goes and might just get another one or was possibly thinking about the allard egr delete kit and just get the egr mapped out. As long as its not the sign of impending doom.
