steering wheel

Featured Replies

I live in Germany so I contacted the seller to ask about these wheels. He confirmed they will fit the Fabia and the the airbag is no problem.

For a group buy of 10 or more he would would do them for €220 each.

However if you return your old steering wheel then the cost is €180.

Seems pretty reasonable.

Does that mean they use the originals as base then add/remove bits to it..? Looks good but i prefer if it was tad smaller tbh.

fyi 220 euros is about 180-190 in the queens money.

£182.60 gbp

well if your going to be like that.. it really depends what type of transaction they accept i.e PP or CC. Google is saying about £180, so PP transfer will be about £185, and CC will be a little more. (at the time of writing) :smirk:

Ok a bit of an update. I emailed for some clarification. Hopefully it answers a few questions.

1.yes this is orginal steering VW-we make"new style" on orginal steering

2.first you buy, pay all costs so 220? and when you send back old steering for each item you get back 40.

3. yes we can give you guarantee for construction and for leather say 1 year.

All prices are in Euros and of course postage is extra.

I dont like Briskoda anymore, It makes you want to buy stuff :p

Do you have to give them your OEM one?

No you don't. It just means you pay €220 and you won't get €40 rebate for sending old wheel.

Dont see the point. When it comes to sell the car, put the oem one back on and sell the R32 rep and get back £80 - £100

They do look pretty good.

I like the idea of being able to design it to a certain extent too B)

If it's a modified OE wheel airbag fitment shouldn't be an issue.

Nor should general build quality for that matter.

If I wasn't about to blow a huge amount of dosh on my wedding

in 2 weeks :o (and I mean huge...) I'd be on this list in a jiffy.

Can't wait to see pics once you fellas start fitting yours.

Good luck with the buy!!

It's true for some it's not worth it, but it's nice to have the option and it's not compulsory.

ok, cool

Only two takers so far, I thought this would actually be a little more popular.

yeh so did i

I can't justify the cost at the moment. It's a nice looking wheel, yeah, but I already have a nice Momo wheel which I can just carry on using (apart from for MOT, depending). I could send the OEM wheel back that I have, but it still comes out at ~£160 so I'm not going to bother :(

To be honest it is not that expensive - covering a steering wheel in Nappa leather is a job around 150euros (125pounds)

Plus the price of the steering wheel will indeed come around the asking price of this ebay seller.

I would probably pick up a Scirocco steering wheel like this one:

http://www.ebay.at/itm/VW-Scirocco-3-1K8-Loch-Leder-Sport-Lenkrad-3-Speichen-/350469151357

but what happens with the airbag is really a mystery :( otherwise I would go for it straight away.

I didn't say it was expensive, just that I can't justify it since I'll probably just put my Momo wheel back on which is similar enough for me (has sculpted thumbrests which I like, I can take or leave the flat bottom of the wheel). Compared to buying a new OEM wheel it's a bargain, when I asked TPS for prices to get an OEM wheel for my MOT test, I'm sure the OEM Fabia wheel was between £200-250

Understood :) do the Momo wheels got an airbag? it is something I wouldn't want to loose.

I think some do (the ones that came as OEM fitment in special edition cars) but mine doesn't.

I would like to put my name down and revive this if anyone else is interested?
