Standing quarter mile?

Featured Replies

Has anybody had their Furby on the Pod?

I was wondering what the 1/4 mile times were for standard and remapped cars... my SX ran a 13.98 and one day I'll get the Furby to beat that :D:D:D

yes, in standard form with 3k on the clock it did it in 16.784 @ 81.66mph. Would show you the printout but I haven't got a scanner.

I'm meant to be going on the 17th of April though it is a Ford day!

^^

Are you sure mate? a Clio 182 can only do it in 17.5 and they are much quicker than a standard furby, unfortunately I never did a 1/4 mile when my car was standard for a comparison but when it was remapped I did the following:

0 - 60 (Secs) : 6.63

0 - 100 (Secs) : 17.08

60 - 100 (Secs) : 10.45

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.04

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 93.81

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 14.84

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 95.45

Somewhere around here I've got the printout from a run I did in my old Peugeot 309 GTI - nothing major done to it (exhaust, induction kit, ported and polished cylinder head, so about 140 BHP) and I ran a 16.98 in it. So I'd be surprised if at Clio 182 was slower than that - unless it was being driven by a soft sod

Sorry my bad - I am getting confused, I was thinking about their 0-100 mph time, doh! :o

If my memory serves me correct a 172 can run low 16's/high 15's with only a few miles on and no mods, so an ECU remap, exhaust and induction kit should see mid to high 14's.

Someone on Cliosport has stripped out a cup, fitted the lightest alloys available (unsprung weight), fitted an induction kit and an exhaust with a remap and is running mid 13's, and can apparently do a 0-62 run in 5.0 flat...

:D

Actually, Mike's time does seem attainable now I think about it - You must of got a good one still I reckon as most I believe would be on the 17 second mark, either that or your quick off the mark :)

Does anybody know if Ross did a run in his Fabia? I'd be curious to see what that runs...

always wanted to do this in my 4x4, how much is one of them timer thingies?

i was wondering if my car would get better results on a damp day due to that little tiny bit of slip letting the engine rev a bit easier and keep the boost going

Chris that was the best of three runs, the other two where 17.145 & 17.539.

My reaction time was .649 which isn't that quick  like I said on the 17th I'll have ago in mod'd from so it would be nice to see what a difference it has made :D

My saxo VTS would do it i the low 15's in stardard kit so I'm sure a 182 must be close to that

you woudl never find out at pod they never run on a wet or damp track...

the best i have from my octy no remap but sports exhaust, air filter, lowered suspension, is:

16.2 sec @ 97mph

where is santa pod then? would be nice to take it up the strip one day

its near northampton, check out http://www.santapod.co.uk/index.php and www.rwyb.co.uk its the rwyb (run what ya brung) days that allow you to take your car up the strip as many times as you can in the day for a small fee...great you tihnk but theres about 200 cars there doing the same lol so you get 3-4 run in the whole day and thats if it dont rain... and if you pay for your place and it rains and they close the track for the day and you have not had a run ...hard cheese... i give them there dues tho..they really do a good job of keeping it open....only close once on me and that was this year coz it started snowing!!

to be fair they try and keep it open even if it is wet, I've been down the strip in the wet (well damp track) if it is raining they will stop until it finished then try their best to dry the track out.

I'd be up for a goold old Briskoda meet (if I can make it on the day)
