Sounds good Joel, although i must warn you that I don't hang about getting there, call it warming my tyres up or something. I imagine it will be packed so getting there early will probably be best. Is this gti thing all weekend or just sunday??

dont knwo for sure id imagine all weekend... id say leave boro at 9ish so say meet at the services at the end of the A605 at around 8:50...

i dont mind going fast as long as its safe and i dont get busted by teh fuzz

Welcome to the GTi Spring Festival website -

for the best new show in the Water -Cooled VW scene.

The venue is Santa Pod Raceway, Bedfordshire, and the date is 24th April. The Spring Festival offers all day sprinting for a single signing on fee. You can make as many runs as you like. If plans work out you will be able to test on the track tuning adjustments made after a session on a 'mobile' rolling road!

For the Show Car aficionados, the Spring Festival Show and Shine is a multi class affair for both stock and modified vehicles. And in almost two decades of show promotion, the organisers of the Spring Festival, (NAS Events,) who also organise the GTi Festival, Volksfest, and VW Action, have never forgotten to bring the trophies with them!

Overseas visitors to the show will receive free admission on production of their ferry tickets/proof of travel, so perhaps we can expect to see a few more European VW's than some other shows will manage this year.

Revisit this site for updates And make sure you are at Santa Pod on the 24th April 2005

Sounds ok,i normally get there for around 9 to get in the q, but i don't imagine we will get to many runs as it will be packed. I was only kidding about keeping up, there are only a couple of stretches where you can open it up.

Well, that was a good laugh but my track abilities were lacking. PS definitive answer now - ASR should be OFF for this...

sorry i didn't make it, mixture of sleeping, lack of money and general forgetfullness lead to non-attendance.

times people

times are as follows in no order:

1. 16.2 sec @ 90.19

2. 16.0 sec @ 90.87

3. 15.8 sec @ 90.75

4. 15.8 sec @ 90.93

5. 16.0 sec @ 90.51

6. 15.9 sec @ 90.73 beat a VW 2.0lt 16V jetta only win of the day

7. 15.9 sec @ 89.41

word of the day i think is consistant (sp??)

best time up to today was 16.2 i thikn the extra was achived by changing dump valve back to a rec.

16.69 was my quickest - standard Fabia vRS

Got beaten by a girl in a black vRS - twice. Once because I tried with the ASR on, and next time I raced her I jumped the green light and fouled, and she still out accelerated me by the end of the quarter mile. I blame not removing my stereo gear, and the fact the car only has 5k on it and hasn't loosened up yet. Nothing to do with my lack of talent...

Any chance of emailing or posting the vids? If you post them everyone can have a laugh at my shameful performances, particularly if you caught my ASR blunder :o

Hi

I'm very proud of her!

I got Service,Maintenance & Tyres with My Fabia, so the Tyres are all inclusive, and get changed by Skoda as and When... ;)

She was pleased to meet all you guys... she had a great day... and we managed to get her '65 VW Samba running on it's new engine today while she was out playing too!

If anyone got any pics / vids of my car I'd love to see them....

She put in a good effort, I must say! I've only got 5k on mine and I know it hasn't loosened up much yet, maybe I'll run better times in 6 months or a year... :D would still like to see the vids though
