FMIC DIY

Featured Replies

Just having a look on flee'bay for some FMIC options and came across this FMIC twin

Not sure if it would fit, its only 180mm high (40mm more than smallest ones), could mount it flat onto the bottom of the crash bar, no need for pipe to go along the bottom of the sump. What do you kids think?

IIRC - Twinpass coolers are not as good as Single pass.

I'm Looking at options too!

How so? Im thinking of ease of installation

yeah much better to fit as you wont have to run a silly long pipe, I like the idea of the fitment of these. Still got to be better than standard

Wow! Quick response from the seller.

Hi,

I'm quite interested in this, however does it have a mount for a MAP sensor or will this have to be tapped into the boost pipe?

Regards,Sam.

Hi, there is no mounting for a map sensor but you could easily drill and tap the end tank, or as you say go in through a boost pipe.Regards

Looks like we are on the same page! I'm not sure how much space is below the crash bar though, id imagine the lugs would have to go through the crash bar so the IC fits flush against it and maybe grind down the lugs at the bottom, thinking things might get tight but the pipe work should be a doddle which is the probably the hardest part of this install.... :wonder:

i've bought one of these as well as a forge MAP sensor pipe, waiting to be fitted once i get the rest of the pipe work.

Working on rough calculations i think its going to be pretty tight between the crash bar and the bottom of the bumper, got a feeling i may have to cut into the crashbar a bit.
