what would you replace your MK1 VRS with?

Featured Replies

been thinking about getting a new car, problem is I can't think of anything as good as the VRS to replace it with :wonder: It would need to be as quick as mine, have 5 seats and return over 30mpg on a run.

Any ideas? I like the MK2 but would need to drop the suspension and remap :giggle:

£6k is my limits

They are nice, just shame about the comedy looking rear end. What a let down.

B5 Audi S4 Avant - but don't hold out much hope of getting 30mpg+

I know a great car! Mk1 octy Vrs! lol

If I ever have to replace mine id get another. Nowt offers the same package. Don't the mk2 as much

B5 RS4 avant.... mmmmmmmmm

:p

One of the girls I work with has one, bought it for £3k and has had no end of problems with it, I might offer her £1500 for a quick sale LOL.

Looking around you can get a Mk 2 octy tdi vrs for about 6k ish I belive you can map them up to 210 bhp and get great mpg

TT 225 or Mk2 Octavia vRS

There is 2 06 plates in silver in a garage in Norwich at £6k on Ebay

I can't afford anything that i would get to replace the octy so that's why I've stuck with it for over 8 years lol

My mates just brought a mk5 gttdi on 19" lm's coil overs and mapped (187bhp 312lbft) £6k it's awesome (for a diesel :giggle: )

If I was goin for something newish and stopping vag it'd be either an s3 or LCR.

If I were being silly it'd be an evo or an AE86 corrolla

I replaced mine with an f reg Volvo 340  but it took the absolute wee out of the vrs on the fun factor (which the vrs lacks)

Now I'm hooning around in a 24v e36 I don't think I'd ever go bk to fwd Lol

get a 1.8T 4x4 and tune it!

done that

recon the 2.5TFSI TTRS has potential

An R8 could be an interesting project too

or maybe 4WD Golf mk1 + 2.5TFSI ...

Same here.

Only things I'd look at would be Audi S4/RS4, maybe an M5 estate but that's dreaming :)

Honda Accord Type R? Or the newer shape 2.4 Type S.

BMW 330i?

Alfa 159 2.2 or 156 GTA?

Audi A4 of some sort.

Focus ST or Mondeo ST?

Plenty to be looking at there.

Honda Accord Type R

The old ones would be a lot slower and bulkier than a remapped Mk1 VRS. Handle very well though.

Focus ST or Mondeo ST

Both really thirsty compared to the Octy though and the Focus is a bit of a chav chariot

mk1 Audi Allroad 2.5TDI (in perfect condition),but I like the new Suzuki Swift 1.2 92HP as well.

very different cars for 11.000E

I could get something better tomorrow but I still like the Octy, so Im keeping it!

golf mk5 gt 1.4tsi....

over 40mpg and it has 170bhp, remaps to 210 and sounds lush with supercharger

VW+Golf+GT+TSI_01.jpg

If you can add a little more cash, BMW 330i (04 onwards only) been looking at those but over budget for me

why do you need a 3 litre engine?

Accord type r

My bro's got one and it fookin flies! (232bhp) My mapped octy could get nowhere near it and the noise it makes on vtec is awesome!
