Where to get OEM Bluetooth fitted in Manchester?

Featured Replies

I've got an OEM Bluetooth kit for my '07 Octavia and I need to get it fitted. I had a bit of a look at doing it myself but it seems to be way beyond the capability of someone with my (complete lack of!!) skills

So can anyone recommend someone in the Manchester region who would be able to fit it? Preferably I'd like it to be someone who's fitted one before and so is fine with putting it in the proper location (under drivers seat) and doing all the cabling via the drivers sill, A-pillar, etc.

Thanks

I can sympathize. I am nowhere near Manchester but have fitted one. The only bit that I found properly difficult was to route the cable correctly under the seat (I cheated and cut a slot in the carpet rather than running it through the steel box section). Everything else looks a bit daunting but really isn't - it is time consuming though. If you got the plug and play kit then you need to be aware that the additional quad-lock connector will not fit behind the redio, you have to put it off to one side behind the glove compartment.

Tools: A coat hangar or thick wire for running the cable across the headlining, an M10 spline tool if you intend taking the seat out, a trim removal tool from Halfrauds (£7), a 10mm spanner to disconnect the battery, a few cable ties.

Really good instructions here http://octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/integrated-bluetooth

Thanks Bill

I had wondered about Shark but I was hoping there might be somewhere that didn't involve a 120 mile round trip :S

I did have a go at fitting it with a mate of mine, but even with the instructions at octavia-vrs.com, it was kinda beyond the skillset of both of the "technical" staff attempting it!

I've used a guy called Craig from Camelectric in Huddersfield to fault find on my Parrot kit - not the same product I know, but he was one of those guys that just seems right on top of their job in terms of skills and knowledge. I was impressed with the service. Check out his website http://www.camelectric.com/ and give him a call if you're interested and I'm sure he will be honest on whether it is something he can do. Depending on where you are in Manchester, it could be that he could make it to you, or at least it would be a shorter trip.

hi slicandice

you have a super car enjoy the ride and on the way back you can call all your friends on your new bluetooth.

Shortly after I got my MkII, I rang Shark to ask about an OEM parking sensor retro fit and was told that they do not offer this. If the situation has changed, I'd certainly be interested in having this done along with a Bluetooth retrofit.
